We split the daily running of our card shop
between our staff and the systems we built.
The shop sells online only, in Japanese, English, and Chinese. Our systems collect market prices and draft the product copy. A person decides what to buy in and how it ships.

What we built it for
The subject is the stock of the trading card shop we run. The same card carries a different price depending on its condition and the set it came from. Price checks and product pages fall behind as the number of cards grows, so we moved those two steps into a system.

Each task has a fixed owner
Collecting and watching market prices
Every morning we collect third-party completed-sale prices and refresh the market page. We follow prices all day and notify the person in charge as soon as a card meets our conditions.
The ledger and the product pages
Cards we buy go into the ledger, and the description follows the same terms in Japanese, English, and Chinese. A person checks it before it goes live.
Inquiries and bookkeeping
We sort incoming inquiries by type and prepare a draft reply. The same flow books each transaction and totals the previous day's receipts and payments.

Where it stands now
Every morning
We refresh the market page and write up the previous day's receipts and payments as a daily report.
Same day
We have the product copy and the draft replies to inquiries ready.
Continuous
Two cards count as the same card only when the card number, the set, the language, and the artwork all match.
